Recently, Keju Cryogenic Company successfully completed the production, assembly, and final testing of the last STR02 SCVB FEEDER component, which is ready for shipment to the ITER Organization (IO) site in France. The on-time completion of this component not only signifies the successful fulfillment of all SCVB components within the domestic FEEDER project, but also lays a solid foundation for the smooth progress of component installation at the ITER site.
The delivered SCVB component is a crucial part of the ITER magnet feeders. It consists of a box body and an extension section. Internally, besides various cooling pipelines and spider supports, it incorporates precision parts such as cryogenic valves, flow meters, and sensors. This ensures the component operates reliably under vacuum and extreme low-temperature conditions while performing various data acquisition tasks.
Faced with the IO's demanding delivery schedule and high-quality standards, our company formed a dedicated project team. We concentrated efforts to complete preparatory work like documentation and drawings, while formulating a detailed plan and meticulously organizing production to shorten the assembly time. Throughout manufacturing, we rigorously controlled every process step, breaking down complex procedures, and conducted functional tests, cryogenic experiments, and leak rate tests as required. Ultimately, we completed all manufacturing, welding, assembly, and testing for the component within three months. The final tests were successfully completed under the witness of IO experts, who expressed their approval. They commended our team for the professionalism and multi-tasking coordination demonstrated during this high-intensity project. Our company views this successful delivery as not only a valuable learning opportunity but also a significant accumulation of experience for future international nuclear fusion projects.
